Some exciting news from Sing Canada Harmony.

The Dr. Paul Tamblyn Music Educator Scholarship is awarded to a choral director who has made a significant impact on the development, promotion and improvement of choral directing and performance in Canada, with preference given to those involved with a cappella choral groups.

At it's Annual General Meeting, Sing Canada Harmony awarded the 2020 Dr. Paul Tamblyn Music Educator Scholarship to Jordan Travis, who was just named Executive Director of Sing! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival.

Jordan Travis has built his career around his passion for educating and enriching communities through music and singing. He is the founder and creative driving force behind InstaChoir, a no-stress, non-auditioned singing experience for everyone (featured on CBC's The National and in SING! 2020 Primetime Concert) and is also the Artistic Director of A Cappella Showcase (2019 Harmony Inc. Chorus Champions), the award-winning Harbourtown Sound, the Golden Horseshoe Chorus (a daytime a cappella chorus geared for seniors), and the Musical Director of The Dukes of Harmony. He was the 2018 recipient of the Slaight Music SING! Toronto Legacy Award on behalf the Toronto Northern Lights Chorus (2013 Barbershop Harmony Society International Chorus Champions ). Jordan is an internationally renowned vocal coach and music educator who has provided workshops and coaching sessions across North America, Europe, China, Australia and New Zealand, including for SING! The Future education program.
